Scratched the itch yesterday and finally got out on the water for a few hours. 20 degrees is cold no matter how you look at it, but I just needed to fish in order to find some sanity. I love the lifestyle, talking shop, and playing with gear, but there is nothing better for my soul than playing with the fish.
So, a buddy and I headed to the EG late morning yesterday and made a day out of what I though was going to a be half hour or so of frozen misery. I embraced the Tenkara thing yesterday and have to say, if nothing else, I never once had to deal with frozen gear getting in the way of fishing and managed to catch some fish too. My life is not changed, but winter fishing just go a lot less frustrating in my world.
