Got back to BA night before last and it is HOT! Waters are in good shape, except that the upper is way too low for this time of year.
Did some shop time yesterday, worked on the Yellowstone way down low today below that reedy point. A good day was had by all, but we did not find the pig I was hoping to find so had to settle for a bunch of 12-16 inchers eating Bow River Buggers. Nothing wrong with fish that eat Bow River buggers in my opinion. Water is still high down there and viz was about 2 feet. Fish were eating in the slack water seams along the banks pretty well. Raised one fish on a chubby, but not the one we were looking for. Other than that, had a great time and definitely stayed warm.
I had been rafting and camping on the Lochsa in Idaho for several days with my 14 year old son, Alex, and a bunch of other kids and parents from his school. I feel very fortunate to have been able to spend time on the water with both my kids over the last week or so. Something that I hope to do a lot more of as time goes by. I think the only thing that I love more than water and fish are my kids, wife too. It has been like a double dose of salvation for my soul lately.
