Camping when it's 95 leave a lot to be desired with the exception of the hours between 9pm and 7am. Salvation came to me this afternoon in the form of a Sun Shower. Looking forward to burgers tonight followed by some good sleeping under the stars.
We fished 3mile to Bighorn today and had a solid outing with nymphs and a few on dries...more Black Caddis up this way but still found a few PMD eaters. The water is still so cold here that the weeds just haven't gotten going this year...which is awesome....and the fish don't get eating real crazy untile late morning. Nymphing with sowbugs during non-buggy times and then moving to some bugs when the water warms a bit and they start eating hard in the riffles.
The Bighorn is an amazing place in that these fish still eat after getting banged on day in and day out, all year long. There must have been over 100 boats between here and there today , but it doesn't seek to bother the fish or most of the anglers either. It's a far cry from the waters of home in terms of scenery and solitude' but it's hard to beat when it comes to fish numbers right now.
