A couple of much needed days off came my way this past weekend, just enough for a solid reup on some sleep. The uncertainty of this whole Yellowstone River closure was weighing pretty heavily on me for a couple of day, but the reality is that we have plenty of water to fish and the guys in Livingston and Paradise Valley are under a lot more pressure than we are right now.
Slept in on Saturday and the wife and I headed to Hebgen for a few hours of morning gulper fishing. Problem was that we didn't leave until 8:30 and the bit was pretty much over by the time we got settled on some rising fish. The wind came up right at that time too.
The fires outside of WY were disturbing too, I had no idea they had gotten so big! Hanging out in West might not be real fun right now if the wind is coming from anyway but the Southwest. They need some rain to quiet that monster down.
Ended up working in the shop on Sunday, trying to get all of our ducks in a row for some Keyser Soze stuff and the remaining part of the guide season which is looking busy for Spetember at this stage in the game.
Heading off with the little googan and my dad this morning for a day of chasing heads around still water.
